Holiday Spending Hangover

We all see the holidays as a time for eating, parties and over spending. Americans are known for racking up more credit card debt during this time of year and racking up the calories too from all the sweets. Here are some ideas that can help you through the season with a little less stress.
First of all, make a list before you leave the house. Come up with a dollar amount that you will spend and don’t go over it. Take that amount with you in cash and that is all you are allowed to spend. Avoid those store discounts for using a credit card. How about online shopping? Many discounts can be found online that regular stores don’t have and keep track of the shipping cost. If you have large families, think about a group gift instead of individual gifts. A few family  members can get together for one gift.
Begin your shopping early so you don’t feel rushed. This way you can take your time and can come across better deals. Last minute shopping always costs more. Take advantage of after holiday sales on wrapping paper and cards can all be stored till next year.
